SOS Children’s Village in Qui Nhon built with funds from International SOS

The representatives of International SOS Children’s Village (International SOS) and Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee have signed an agreement to establish the SOS Children’s Village and some other projects worth 40 billion VND in Qui Nhon, Binh Dinh Province. This is the 14th SOS children’s village in Vietnam funded by International SOS. It will be built on an area of 4.6ha in two phases. The first phase includes the Qui Nhon SOS Children’s Village and a kindergarten. The Village has 14 families and necessary facilities to foster 120-140 children. The kindergarten has six classes for 180-200 pupils. The second phase includes the projects on the SOS Youth’s Dormitory, the SOS Social Centre and other programmes for researching and assessing the “children with needs” in Binh Dinh Province. These projects will target Binh Dinh Province’s children and will receive needy children from neighbouring provinces to reach full capacity.

On November 13, 1008 the ground-breaking ceremony of Dien Bien SOS Children’s Village funded by International SOS was held. Siddhartha Kaul, Deputy General Secretary of International SOS Children’s Village said that in the next three years International SOS would fund the establishment of a SOS children’s village in Gia Lai.
