Vietnam-India Ties: “Clear like the sky without any cloud”

One year after Vietnam and India signed a strategic partnership agreement during the visit to India by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in 2007, Indian President Pratibha Patil paid an official visit to Vietnam between November 24th and 28th at the invitation of State President Nguyen Minh Triet. The visit was aimed at fostering and promoting the special relationship between the two countries.

Vietnam’s role enhanced in APEC

The 16th Summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC 16) Forum convened in Peru’s capital of Lima on November 22nd and 23rd, 2008, ended with impressive results. Solutions to firmly hold the global economy from the danger of falling into depression were paid prime attention. Together with successful results gained at the 14th Summit hosted by Vietnam in 2006, at the 16th Summit Vietnam again enhanced its role with diverse initiatives and contributions to the forum.

Vietnam -Venezuela: Comprehensive Partnership in the Spirit of Fraternity and Comradeship

At the invitation of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias, President Nguyen Minh Triet and his wife led a State high-ranking delegation to visit Venezuela, from November 19th to 21st, 2008. This was the first ever official visit to Venezuela by a Vietnamese State leader, which ushered in new perspectives in the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela.

Vietnam-Cambodia Relationship Gets Thriving and Realistic

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, after taking up office for the fourth term (2008-2013), made his first working trip abroad for two days (November 4th and 5th) of which his first destination was Vietnam. In the past as well as at present, Vietnam and Cambodia have an extremely special relationship, which has attracted the attention of leaders and people from both countries.

Vietnam - Russia – Mongolia: New Development in Relations
