First Fibre Cable Plant Built in Southeast Asia

Israel’s Ultrapure Core Group (UPC), the world-leading manufacturer of optical fibre cables, and Vietnam Fibre Optics Joint Stock Company (VFO) in Ho Chi Minh City signed a contract on transferring optical cable technology.

Under the contract, UPC Group will build a fibre cable plant in My Phuoc Industrial Zone in Binh Duong Province.  The plant, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, with an investment of 150 million USD, will produce high-tech fibre cables from silicate and super-clean gas to meet domestic demand. The factory’s main products are telecommunication cables, applied cables, research cables and special cables.
