“Maintaining Growth”, the second Vietnam Economic Forum will be held in Hanoi on
September 19, 2008 with the participation of Vietnamese leaders, international
policy makers and CEOs of financial economic groups in the region and nearly 600
participants from many countries in the world. The aim of the forum is to
examine possible solutions for Vietnam to overcome the difficulties caused by
the global financial crisis and maintain its long-term development
objectives.
According to
Tran Mai Huong, Vice Director of Vietnam News Agency, the forum will focus on
discussing major targets set by the Vietnamese Government in the future, such as
restraining inflation, maintaining economic growth and stabilising social
security.
Two other issues
to be discussed include fundamental construction and training of high-skilled
workers.
After
discussion, delegates will visit some industrial and processing zones in Hai
Duong Province. This is an opportunity for investors to research the potential
of Vietnam, meet local authorities and see with their own eyes some investment
models which have been implemented in Vietnam.
The forum is
held by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Asian Telecommunication
Association and Vietnam News Agency.
