Under the Decision No.122/2008/QD-TTG, from now to 2020, Phu Yen, with the investment demand of about 238,000 billion VND, will become a large service and tourist centre in the area and in the whole country and the eastern gateway for the development of Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands). It is also an important point in the regional development linkage among provinces in Central Highlands and Central coastal area. Under the master plan on socio-economic development of Phu Yen Province by 2020 which has just been approved by the Prime Minister, the Province will have one city, two townships and nine towns.
