Time: August 7 (lunar July
7)
Feature: According
to the legend, the festival is held to commemorate the couple Nguu Lang -Chuc Nu
(also called the couple Ngau) who love each other very much but can’t live
together because Chuc Nu is a fairy in the heaven and Nguu Lang is a buffalo
boy. They lives separately on the two banks of the Galaxy and are allowed to
meet each other once every year thanks to a bridge called “O Thuoc” built by the
crows and magpies. In each meeting, they usually weep for joy and their tears
turn into rains, called “Ngau” rains.
