Feature: Hon Chen is
a popular name of Ngoc Tran Mountain (Gem Cup) nearby the Huong River in Hue
City, where Holy Mother Thien Y A Na is worshipped. According to the legend of
the Cham, Holy Mother Thien Y A Na is the genie who reclaimed land, create
plants and animals and taught the villagers how to cultivate.
The festival is held twice a year,
including the Spring ceremony in lunar February and Autumn ceremony in lunar
July. During the festival, a procession to Hon Chen Temple is held with the
participation of an octet and many boats carrying flags, altars,
etc.
